What installing gets you

Checkinea works fine in a regular browser tab, but installing it turns it into something closer to a native app:

  • A real app icon on your home screen (or in your app drawer/dock), instead of a browser bookmark.
  • Opens full-screen in one tap — no address bar, no browser tabs, just the app.

Installing doesn't unlock any feature you don't already have in the browser — Checkinea still needs a network connection to sync bookings, load check-ins, and file with SES either way. It's purely about how you get back into the app day to day.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open checkinea.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" (the exact wording depends on your Chrome version).
  4. Confirm — the icon appears on your home screen.

If Chrome shows a compatibility notice during install, that's a known quirk of how Android packages installed web apps and isn't specific to Checkinea — installing via Chrome (rather than another browser) is the supported path and the app installs and runs normally either way.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Open checkinea.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Tap Add — the icon appears on your home screen.

Safari is the most reliable route on iPhone and iPad. Some other browsers offer a similar "Add to Home Screen" option, but if you don't see it, switch to Safari and follow the steps above.

Desktop (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open checkinea.com in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Look for the install icon in the address bar (a small screen-with-arrow icon, usually on the right side).
  3. Click it, then confirm Install.

Once installed, Checkinea opens in its own window, separate from your regular browser tabs.
